Influence of Date of Sowing on Incidence of Gall Fly, Asphondylia sesame and Capsule Borer, Antigastra catalaunalis in Sesame

Sesame (cv. AKT-64) sown on different dates at 10 days interval (15^th June, 25^th June, 5^th July, 15^th July, 25^th July and 5^th August) during consecutive Kharif seasons of 2006, 2007 and 2008 exhibited significant differences in pest incidence and crop yield. Sowing of sesame during 15^th June to 5^th July resulted in escaping or minimizing the incidence of both gall fly and capsule borer as well as in higher yield.
