Studies were carried out on the effectiveness of imidacloprid, carbosulfan and thiamethoxam on sucking complex of cotton and the effect of vigour and viability of the treated seed in cotton immediately, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 24 months after seed treatment. Seed treatment with Thiamethoxam @ 3 and 5g a.i. and imidacloprid @ 5g a.i./kg was effective for four weeks against the sucking complex and the period of storage did not affect the performance of the seed dressing chemicals. None of the chemicals affected the vigour and viability of the cotton seed.
