Field studies were conducted to assess the efficacy of moult disruptors viz., Novaluron, Flufenoxuron, Diflubenzuron, and Teflubenzuron both alone and in combination with Endosulfan (0.07%) against groundnut leafminer, Aproaerema modicella Deventer., during kharif seasons of 2006 and 2007 at two different locations. Novaluron alone (0.01%) and in combination with Endosulfan (0.07%) was found to be the best treatment based on larval & pupal mortalities, reduction in leaf damage and higher yields. Among the other moult inhibitors tested, flufenoxuron was moderately efficacious compared to diflubenzuron both alone and in combination with endosulfan. The toxicity of Novaluron when used in combination with endosulfan persisted up to 10 days after sprays.
