A field experiment was conducted for two successive seasons in 2009–2010 to study the relative bio-efficacy of new insecticide formulation of Thiamethoxam 75% SG against green leafhoppers (GLH) in rice under irrigated field conditions. The results revealed that Thiamethoxam (56, 75, 94, 113, 225g a.i. per ha.) treatments were inferior to the standard check carbofuran 3G@ 1000 g.a. i./ha which was the most efficient in reducing leafhopper population.). However, Thiamethoxam (56, 75g a.i. per ha.) treated plots recorded higher parasitisation of leafhopper eggs (85–90%)
