Abstract

Studies on susceptibility of different genotypes/varieties of okra to leafhopper, Amrasca biguttula biguttula and whitefly, Bemisia tabaci were undertaken during Kharif seasons of 2005 and 2006. The genotypes VRO-5, VRO6 and the cultivar Red Long could be categorized as Resistant (R) and recorded significantly least population of these pests. The genotypes/varieties AOL-03-02, AOL-04-03, AOL-04-05, Pusa Sawani and Gujarat Okra -2 were moderately Resistant (MR) against leaf hopper. However, only AOL-04-03 showed moderately resistance to whitefly. None of the genotypes/varieties showed high susceptibility to the leafhopper population.
