Bioefficacy of Newer Insecticides Against Safflower Aphid Uroleucon compositae

Abstract

Field trial was conducted to evaluate comparative efficacy of newer insecticidal molecules against safflower aphid, Uroleucon compositae (Theobald). The cultivar ‘Manjeera’ was sown in randomized block design with seven treatments (including control). Among the treatments, thiamethoxam @ 0.005% proved best by recording maximum (97.2) per cent decline in aphid population followed by acetamiprid @ 0.005% (96.4%). The highest seed yield was obtained in thiamethoxam treated plot (1393.3kg ha−1).
