Field studies were carried out during 2007–08 and 2008–09 to evaluate the six botanicals and seven fungicides at their respective doses against Alternaria blight of mustard and its yield. The botanicals and fungicides were sprayed separately after the disease appearance (40 days after sowing) at 10 days interval and the results showed that all the six botanicals and seven fungicides reduced the disease and increase the yield significantly in comparison to untreated control. Among the treatments, spraying of iprodione @ 0.25% a.i. caused minimum disease severity on leaves and siliqua with less number of spots per siliqua and subsequently increased the yield and yield parameters followed by garlic bulb extract. Thus, garlic bulb extract could be used as a substitute for chemical fungicide iprodione and others for eco friendly management of Alternaria leaf blight of mustard.
