A ready mix insecticide formulation, Alika 247 (thiamethoxam 12.6% + lambdacyhalothrin 9.4%) was evaluated against stemfly, Melanagromyza sojae (Zehnter); girdle beetle, Obereopsis brevis (Swedenbord); semiloopers [Chrysodeixis acuta (Walker), Diachrysia orichalcea (Fabricius), and Gesonia gemma Swinhoe], and tobacco caterpillar, Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) in soybean under field conditions. Three doses of Alika; 22, 27.5, and 33 g ha−1 were tested at crop flowering as foliar spray. None of the three test doses of Alika could contain stemfly and girdle beetle damages. Whereas, Alika was found effective for semiloopers @ 27.5 and 33 g a.i. ha−1 and provided protection up to 10 days after treatment. Alika @ 27.5 g a.i. ha− 1 was also effective against tobacco caterpillar but not beyond one day after treatment.
