Abstract

Response of different pigeonpea genotypes was studied against pod borer complex i.e Helicoverpa armigera, Maruca vitrata and Melanagromyza obtusa. The lowest inflorescence damage due to M. vitrata was recorded in ICPL-98008 (4.8%) and low larval population (1.8) of H. armigera was recorded in ICPL-332WR, BWR-376, CORG-9701 and WRG-5. Among all the genotypes BWR-376, Mahanandi-1, COGR-9701, ICP-7035, ICPL77303, LRG-41, SM-1, JKM-144, ICPHaRL 4989-7 and SM-97 were found resistant to all the three pests by recording less pod damage and grain damage. The seed yield per plant was high in ICPL-98008 (354.8 g), followed by ICPL-84060, SM-30, SM-97, MAL-19, ICP-13198 and low in ENT-11 (82.4 g).
