Eighteen sapota varieties were screened for their reaction against fruit mite, Tuckerella kumaonensis (Gupta) (Acari: Tuckrellidae) during 2009-10 to 2012-13. The fruit mite remains active round the year on all sapota varieties. The sapota varieties viz., Cricket Ball, Kalipatti, Murabba, Challa Collection-3 and Paria Collection were most susceptible to the fruit mite infestation as these varieties harboured higher number of fruit mites whereas the variety Zumakhiya was found tolerant as it harboured very less fruit mite throughout the experimental period.
