Abstract

Brown leaf spot disease of bajra caused by Pyricularia penniseti Prasada and Goyal was effectively controlled by 3 sprays of Phygon-XL, Difolatan-80W and an antifungal antibiotic aureofungin. Dithane M-45 and Zincop could also reduce the disease intensity, but were slightly inferior to the above fungicides and aureofungin. Bordeaux mixture was the least effective, rather toxic to the plant even at lowest concentration (0. 2 per cent) used. Griseofulvin and mycostatin proved to be ineffective in relative performance.
