The rate of dissipation of carbophenothion, tetrachlorvinphos, dicrotophos, trichlorphon and endosulfan applied to Bengal gram according to recommended dosage schedules has been examined. The residues of each chemical determined at harvest time in grain and plant are found to be above the recommended safe limits. It is suggested that only one application of the insecticides must be made earlier than in the schedule.
