Abstract

The three seasons pooled data of the trials conducted to study the efficacy of Bacillus thuringiensis in comparison with promising insecticides for the control of potato tuberworm Phthorimaea opercullela Zeller revealed that all the treatments were effective and significantly superior over untreated for controlling the pest on foliage as well as on tubers. The treatments with Bacillus thuringiensis were found equally effective when compared with promising insecticides. The maximum yield of 77.5 quintals ha was obtained in plots treated with 0.05% monocrotophos which was on par with the yield of the plots treated with Cajrab (B. thuringiensis).
