Abstract

Ten granular insecticides were tested in the laboratory against final instar grubs of Lachnosterna (Holotrichia) consanguinea Blanch at six dosages by mixing the granules in air dried sandy loam soil and confining the grubs individually in pots filled with treated soil. Phorate was found most toxic followed by carbofuran, aldicarb and diazinon. Endrin and disulfoton were moderately toxic, while dimethoate, lindane + carbaryl (1:1), endosulfan and trichlorfon were least toxic.
