Abstract

The effect of different types of packing materials on the incidence of storage rots of tomato was studied. Pine leaves, paddy straw, paper pieces and paper wrapping were the packing materials used in the study. Paper wrapping of individual tomate fruits was found to be most effective reducing losses in storage by 25.79 percent over control, followed by paddy straw, and pine leaves. Paper pieces used as packing material was not effective.
