Abstract

The stem borer, Chilo partellus is causing serious damage in all the sorghum growing areas. For the control of this insect pest, one field experiment was conducted with ten granular insecticides. Looking into the overall efficacy in reduction a the stem borer incidence, increasing the grain yield and net profit, the granular application of carbofuran or endosulfan were superior to the rest of the insecticides tested.
