Effeet of Potato virus Y inoculation at 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 days after sowing on the syptom expression, growth and yield of chilli was studied. The plants that were inoculated 15 days after sowing were severely stunted and produced no yield. The effect of the virus on the growth and yield was decreased gradually as the age of plant at inoculation was inceeased. The plant inoculated at 90 days after sowing were unaffected.
