Eleven insecticides were tested against final instar moggots of Carpomyia vesuviana Costa attacking Zyzyphus jujuba Lamk. by impregnating the sandy loam soil with benzene solution of insecticides. Ethyl parathion, aldrin and lindane were found to be 18.21, 2 97 and 1.44 times more toxic than lindane while telodrin was 0.43 heptachlor 0.22. dieldrin 0.15, malathion 0 06, chlordane 0.05 toxaphene 0.02, DDT 0 01 times as toxic as lindane.
