Evaluation Ok Different Sex-Attractants against the Moths of Pink Bollworm Pectinophora Gossypiella (Saund.)

Hexalure, Gossyplure. Gossyplure + antioxidant and Pherocone pink bollworm caps were tested and compared with control by using Zoecon traps. The first three sex-attractants were impregnated on Eaton and Dikeman 617 filter paper cuttings (2.5 × 2.5 cm) by capillary action. The Pherocone pink bollworm caps were used as such. The maximum attraction of pink bollworm moths was to Pherocone pink bollworm caps. There was no difference in number of moths caught on Gossyplure and, Gossyplure + antioxidant traps. The least number of moths were caught in Hexalure. Studies on the efficacy of improvised tin traps by using Stichem as sticking agent and Pherocone pink bollworm caps as attractant showed that rectangular tin boxes of 23 × 14 × 6.5 cm size with 4 holes 2.5 × 50 cm and 23 × 18 × 6 cm size with 6 holes can be used for this purpose.
