Meteorological factors-rainfall and air temperature-were studied for their association with Helminthosporium infection in paddy in Assam during 1965–74 for the par-pose of developing a forecasting technique. A positive correlation between Helminthosporium infection and rainfall of preceeding month was found which reveals the high predictive value of rainfall for Helminthosporium infection in paddy one month in advancs.
