Rodent Control Campaign at Nanaj Village, Solapur, Maharashtra

A rodent control campaign was organised at Nanaj village in Solapur district (Maharashtra) during September, 1974 using warfarin rodenticide. A reduction of 98 8 percent was observed in the field rodents. Whereas, almost all houses were nearly rodent free. Two hundred fifty five dead rodents were collected during the campaign. The species composition encountered in the field was Bandicota bengalensis > Rattus meltada and in the houses of Rattus rattus < Mus musculus
