Twelve species of fungi were found to be contaminant in seven axenic cultures of blue-green algae. Of the six fungicides (dithane Z-78, difolatan, bavistin, blitane, thiram and hexacap) tested, bavistin and difolatan could give better control of fungi than others by incorporating them into the medium at the concentrations of 250–500 ppm.
