Abstract

Anomis flava (Fabr.) appeared in an epizootic form during September-October 1975. Larval survival and growth index was more on hirsutum cotton and consequently, it was more serious on American Varieties than on desi cotton. Of the 23 insecticides tested, a number of organophosphates and carbaryl proved very effective for its control but DDT and BHC were rather poor. A heavily infested crop sprayed with phosphamidon 0.25 kg ai/ha gave 7.36–23. 75 per cent higher yield in different varieties than the untreated crop.
