It is well known that ethylene bisdithiocarbamate compounds which are used widely as fungicides undergo degradation in storage and give rise to ethylene thiourea which has a deleterious effect on the thyroid gland. The results of screening 31 such compounds for their ethylene thiourea content are presented in this paper.
