Some considerations for a successful aerial spraying operation which should be reliable, efficient and profitable are (i) operation should be run on a series of orbits, (ii) adequate reserve aircraft equipment and trained personnel must be maintained, (iii) fields should be checked for hazards before the order is confirmed, and (iv) farmers should be told of the extra benefits to be derived from the use of aircraft in place of ground equipment. In this way, a higher scale of charges, which are necessary to maintain an efficient operation with the reserve resources rnd personnel, would be made acceptable to the farming community.
