Abstract

Field experiments were conducted for two successive kharif seasons of 1975 and 1976 for the control of weeds in rainfed groundnut on sandy loam soils. In the first year pre-sowing application of fluchloralin at 1.2 kg/ha was as effective as two hand hoeings and weedings and in the second year which was drier, pre-emergence application of nitrofen at 0.5 k/g ha supplemented with one hand hoeing and weeding at 50 days was effective in controlling weeds and increasing pod yield respectively.
