Tests with Puccinia recondita Rob. ex Desm revealed that the mineral oil, Orchex 694, inhibited germination of uredospores. The oil protec ed wheat from infection by leaf rust but had no therapeutic action. In the field. Orchex 694 controlled leaf rust in wheat and increased yield whether it was used alone or in combination with other fungicides.
