a. The degradation reaction rate constant ‘K’ was higher in black soil than red soil for lindane indicating that the persistence of lindane was higher in red soil than in black soil.
b. Moisture level had a profound influence on the persistence of lindane in different soil types. The persistence was higher at field capacity moisture level than under flooded condition.
c. The red soil was found to retain slightly higher quantities of lindaue than the black soil.
