Abstract

Some local rice cultivars are seriously affected by the attack of Dicladispa armigera Oliver in Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh. A trial was therefore laid out to evaluate the efficacy of various insecticides on the incidence of the pest insect. It was observed that apart from permethrin which is a synthetic pyrethroid, endosulfan and methyl parathion (at 0.05% a. i.) gave promising and consistent results through out the period of study. However, permethrin even at a lower concentration of 0.025% a. i. gave equally better results. Other insecticides could be dropped for use against the pest on the basis of their performance.
