An Investigation into the Impact of Literacy Components on Student's Reading Attitudes of the Fourth Grade of Elementary School in Yazd

This study is an investigation into the impact of literacy components of family environment on the student's reading attitudes of the fourth grade of elementary school. To carry out this approach the correlation methodology is used data collection is done cluster sampling (n = 446) and they are interpreted by the use of Mann-Whitney test, Pearson and multiple regression and reading dimensions questionnaire. The results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between social and economic condition and the purposeful behaviours of parents with the students reading attitudes. It is proved that those students, who have parents with high levels of social and economic status, have more positive reading attitudes compared with other students. There is also a negative and significant relationship between the effect of parent's evaluation of reading and student's reading attitudes. The results of multiple regression show that parental factors can predict the student's reading attitudes.
