Abstract

There has been significant progress and development in the behavioural management of writer‘s cramp (WC) in recent years. Behavioural approach is commonly used in the management of WC which includes electro myographic biofeedback, hand writing modification techniques, modified pen grip, supinator writing practice, relaxation technique, supportive or motivational counselling, and habit reversal. Behavioural management is a noninvasive, and cost-effective treatment alternative to botulinum toxin/chemo denervation, anticholinergic drugs and deep brain stimulation, for the management of WC. Hence, this review inspects the empirical literature on behavioural management of WC and suggests recommendations for future research.
