The present study compared the stress level between two groups of university students. First is the “Non-migrated group” consisting of those students who belong to hilly regions of Garhwal and had done their schooling and graduation from hilly regions of Garhwal only. Other is the “Migrated group” consisting of those students who belong to plain regions and had migrated to hilly areas for higher studies. The sample comprised of 60 students studying in Postgraduate courses in Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Srinagar Garhwal. They were assessed on Stress Scale (Puri, Kaur and Mehta, 2011). t- test was used for statistical analysis, the mean difference was found to be significant at t (58) = 2.89, p<.01. Result indicated that Non-migrated Students had a high level of stress as compared to migrated students. Discussion of the result is given.
