Abstract

Egg quality traits of Khaki Campbell, Desi and their crosses at 40th weeks of age were studied. The least square means for the extemal egg quality traits like egg weight and shape index were 61.49%0.78 g and 72.39%0.42 respectively for Khaki Campbell; 52.S6±0.38 g and 73.01±0.21 respectively for desi and 57.61±0.40 and 71.94±0.22 respectively for crosses. For internal quality traits such as egg shell thickness, albumin index. yolk index and Haugh unit the least square means were 0.310±0.002, 0.121±0.007, 0.414±0.004 and 79.79±0.74 mm respectively for Khaki Campbell; 0.289±0.001, 0.126±0.003, 0.408±0.002 and 82.15±0.36 mm respectively for desi and 0.307±0.001, 0.125±0.003, 0.415±0.002 and 79.57±0.38 mm respectively for the crosseS. All the egg quality traits were significantly influenced by genetic groups except albumin index and yolk index.
