Intake and digestibility of nutrients in chickens fed diets based on rice bran

Rice bran samples collected from market had 90.46±0.94 dry matter, 12.27±1.3% crude protein 12.85 ether extract, 13.78±2.9% crude fibre and 7.65±2.7% acid insoluble ash. Diets based on rice bran samples containing high crude fibre and acid insoluble ash showed relatively lower feed intake. Percent digestibility of dry matter (39.3–59.8), protein retention (60.3–67.2) and NFE digestibility (36.3–73.1)010) were significantly higher on diets based on rice bran containing relatively lower crude fibre and acid insoluble ash levels.
