Abstract

Day-old broiler chicks were randomly selected and placed in 5 groups (n=20). They were fed commercial mash (T1) and 4 levels of chakwar (Cassia tora) seed i.e. 2.5% (T2), 5% (T3), 10% (T4) and 15% (T5) blended with broiler mash. Body weight gain increased (P<0.01) in all chakwar fed groups. Feed conversion ratio was also lower in chakwar fed groups. When these ratios were compared among treatments, it was lower (P<0.05) in groups T3 (2.15), T4(2.22) and T4(2.23) than T5 (2.31) and T1(2.29). The external organs, internal body components alongwith dressing percent and proportions between the groups. The chakwar seed can be safely incorporated upto 10% level in broiler mash for maximum return.
