Abstract

One hundred and sixty five day old Vencobb broiler straight run chicks were randomly divided into five groups with 3 replicates in each group. Five rations (T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5) were formulated to replace a mixture containing 34% sunflower cake (SFOC) and 66% deoiled rice bran (DORB) at 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10% with glyricidia meal (GLM) on isocaloric and isonitrogenous basis. The diets were fed to birds for 8 weeks. The body weight gain and feed consumption were significantly (P < 0.05) lower in T4 and T5 groups. But, a significant (P< 0.05) depression in feed efficiency was observed in T5 group. Maximum feed cost reduction was recorded in 2.5%. The carcass characteristics did not differ significantly irrespective of treatmens.
