Performance of commercial broilers as influenced by herbal liver stimulant

An experiment was conducted to study the effects of polyherbal liver stimulant (Livoliv) on the performance of commercial broilers. Four hundred and eighty day old broiler chicks were randomized into two groups with three replications each and provided two diets namely D1 (control diet) and D2. Diet D1 contained basal feed whereas Livoliv @ 0.5 g/kg feed was added in diet D2. It was found that significantly higher 6 week body weight, better feed efficiency and lower mortality were observed in the treated group (D2) as compared to control (D1). Significant increase in dressed and edible weight and reduction in liver and kidney weights were also observed alongwith an extra income of Rs. 9.41 per dressed broiler in the treated group.
