Abstract

The effect of fcather reducing major gene. naked neck (Na) was studied in white-feathered broiler line in North Indian summer climate. The results indicated marginally better performance of naked neeks as compared to normal as far as body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio is concerned. however in many cases the differences were not significant. Lesser feather cover leadmg to better heat dissipation appeared to be the reason.
