Bacteriological investigation of clinical samples of poultry in Nagpur region

In the present study in all 72 poultry samples from various sources were screened. E.coli 41 (56.9%) was the commonest isolates followed by Pseudomonas spp 16.6%. Citrobacter spp (6.9%). Klebsiella spp (5.5%) Shigella spp (6.9%) and unclassified spp (6.9%). The sensitivity pattern indicate that overall most of the isolates were highly sensitive to ciprotloxacin and gentamicin (69.4%) each. Whereas. isolates were highly resistant to oxyteracycline (9.7%). nitrofurantoin (12.5%). ampicillin (13.8%) and amoxycillin (6.6%).
