Use of oligo-dextran as a growth promoter in broilers under stress

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of oligo-dextran (MHF-Y) supplementation on broiler performance. Day-old. 500 broiler chicks were randomly divided into ten equal groups of 50 cacho The result of the trial indicated that birds receiving diet-contain oligo-dextran @250g/T showed significantly improved live weights and the product was found beneficial for the gain in weights of the birds reared under stress. Feed consumption of birds supplemented with oligo-dextran was lower and similar trend was observed with birds reared under stress receiving diet oligo-dextran @500/T. The feed conversion ratio was similar in all groups. Oligo-dextran supplementation helped in gaining higher profit per kg live weight under normal as well as stress condition. Therefore it can be concluded that supplementation of oligo-dextran (MHF-Y) @250 and 500g/T is beneficial for over all improvement of the production performance of broilers reared under normal and stress condition.
