Fourteen days old commercial broiler chicks were fed diets in which maize of the control diet (T1) was replaced by 15% apple pomace (T2), 15% apple pomace and 5% molasses (T3); 15% apple pomace and 10% molasses (T4), 5% molasses (T5) and 10% molasses (T6) up to 42 days of age to study the effect on growth, feed intake, FCR and survivability. Diets of treatments T2, T3 and T4. were supplemented with multi-enzyme mixture *@ 0.1%.
No significant difference was observed on the above traits among various treatments. It may be concluded that maize could be replaced in broiler ration by 15% apple pomace and 10% molasses simultaneously without any adverse effect.
