The present investigation was carried out on 75 commercial poultry farmers following expost facto research design and random sampling in Rangareddy district of Andhra Pradesh. Majority of the commercial poultry farmers were in the high category of information need so as to improve their farming performance. Four variables viz. age, innovativeness, information seeking behaviour and computer awareness were significantly related to the information needs of commercial poultry farmers. The crucial factors contributing to the variation in the information needs of both layer and broiler farmers were age, innovativeness, information seeking behaviour, economic motivation, achievement motivation, scientific orientation, knowledge on poultry production and computer awareness. The planners, policy makers and extension agencies should focus on these important factors in development and planning of information dissemination systems.
