Abstract

To know the prevalence of Ascaridia galli infection surrounding Pantnagar, an epidemiological study was conducted at organized poultry farms and local meat market. Prevalence of A. galli infection was higher at organized farms (28.93%) than local meat market (23.14%). Seasonal variation was also recorded as prevalence was higher during summer (34.15%) than other seasons at farms. Grower birds revealed higher prevalence than adult birds at organized farms while in local meat market, adult birds showed more prevalence than grower birds.
