Abstract

Wild monal (Lophophorus impejanus), were screened for the presence of Chlamydophila psittaci infection. Faecal samples (droppings) of 3 birds were found to be positive for Chlamydophila psittaci out of 6 birds tested. Thus, this study has established presence of C. psittaci, a zoonotic pathogen, in wild monals.
