Abstract

The study was conducted with the aim to improve the efficiency of ‘Double Window ex-vivo Chick Embryo Culture System” at Phase II and III and to compare the percent livability of embryos of experimental group with the control group. A total of 233 fertile eggs of IC-3, medium body size broiler populations aged between 32–35 weeks obtained through natural mating were set in different experiments using ex-vivo embryo culture technique. Consequently 134 eggs from the same strain were also set in the incubator as control. A total of 97 chicks hatched from 233 transfers. The corresponding percent viability of embryos of normally incubated eggs of control between 1–4 days, 5–10 days, 1118 days, 19–22 days and successfully hatched was 96.26, 91.79, 88.80 and 83.58 respectively.
