Abstract

This investigation was undertaken on 600 purebred and crossbred birds. The average value at 10 weeks body weight for Kadaknath, Aseel, Rhode Island Red, Brown Cornish and their crosses Kadaknath x Brown Cornish, Brown Cornish x Kadaknath, Aseel x Rhode Island Red and Rhode Island Red x Aseel were 472.64±7.54, 555.73±9.31, 628.15±7.64, 1091.10±18.11, 716.38±22.99, 614.00±17.14, 617.66±11.01, 532.80±14.00 g respectively. The percent hatchability, fertility and hen housed egg production was found higher in Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red x Assel cross than other purebred and crossbred. The corresponding average dressed weight in purebred and crossbred 393.33±16.91, 513.33±69.30, 523.33±8.81, 641.00±2.08, 660.00±30.13, 661.66±59.23, 501.66±59.23, 538.33±53.44 g and the coefficient of variation as 7.44,23.38,2.91,0.56,7.90,8.95, 11.80 and 9.93 per cent, respectively.
