Efficacy of feeding Lactobacillus acidophilus and Saccahromyces cerevisiae 1026 was studied on performance and nutrient utilization in broilers. Moderate numerical improvement was noted in body weights, in yeast (T3) supplemented group whereas incorporation of Lactobacillus acidophilus alone and in combination with yeast did not show any differences in body weights and feed conversion ratio (FCR). Non-significant increase in nitrogen, ether extract and calcium retention was observed in all treated groups. The dressing yield was considerably high in all treated groups. The feeding of yeast recorded higher net return whereas remaining treated groups revealed negative returns when compared with control. Supplementation of yeast in broilers at the rate of 0.05% resulted in overall improvement in performance of broilers along with enhanced dressing percentage.
