The present study was conducted on 408 commercial broiler birds to estimate the effect of three anti stress agents namely zeetress, honey and glucose on different groups of broiler chicks (51 each) under deep litter and cage system of poultry rearing. The total expenditure incurred on purchasing day old chicks, feed, labour cost, cost of vaccine, medicine were considered. The price of zeetress @ Rs. 28/10 g, honey @ Rs. 50/kg and glucose @ Rs. 65/kg were also taken into consideration. While the income was calculated by sale of birds, gunny bags and poultry manure at 6 week of age of the chicks, the maximum return was noted in zeetress (Rs. 817.38) group followed by honey (Rs. 780.60) and glucose (Rs. 736.37) group at 6 week of age in cage system. The net return in deep litter system was however, found higher in respective groups than that of cage system but the trend was similar. A maximum profit was noted in zeetress treatment group (Rs. 823.00) followed by honey (Rs. 812.51) and glucose (Rs. 801.70) treatment group. The mode of supplementation of anti stress agents were carried out viz. zeetress @ 5 g/1000 birds in drinking water for first 10 days followed by 10 g/1000 birds from 28th day onwards for 10 days, glucose @ 5% in drinking water for first 10 days followed by 2% glucose 28th day onwards for 10 days. Honey diluted to 5% sugar content in drinking water for first 10 days followed by 2% sugar content after 28th day onwards for 10 days in both the system of rearing.
