The present study was carried out on broiler chicks (0 to 42 days) to study the effect of supplementation of a cocktail of enzymes and probiotics (Bifidobacterium bifidum 232) on growth performance, feed intake, feed conversion efficiency and serum profile in broiler chicks. The body weight gain and feed conversion efficiency was significantly (P < 0.01) higher in groups supplemented with Kemzyme HF and Phytase, Kemzyme HF and Bifidobacterium bifidum 232. The feed intake was significantly (P < 0.01) lower in the Kemzyme HF and Bifidobacterium bifidum 232 (3865.4 g) when compared to the rest of the treatment groups. The supplementation of probiotic B. bifidum 232 and Kemzyme HF reduced the serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels significantly (P<0.01). The serum cholesterol and serum triglycerides are significantly lower in Kemzyme HF and B. bifidum 232 (110.7 and 27.84 mg/dL) compared to the other two treatment groups and control group (134.3 and 57.68 mg/dL). There were no significant differences in serum calcium levels among the treatment groups and control group (except between Kemzyme HF and phytase and cocktail enzymes group). The results suggested that Kemzyme HF and Phytase, Kemzyme HF and Bifidobacterium bifidum 232 combinations might be incorporated in corn-soya diets as effective growth promoters.
