A feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effect of inclusion of sun dried sugarcane press residue (SPR) as a source of minerals in the diets of layers. Three experimental diets were formulated by incorporating SPR at 0, 5 and 10 per cent to cater the relevant organic and mineral sources. Another set of 9 diets were prepared by supplementing each diet with either lipid utilizing agents (lipase and lecithin) or NSP degrading enzymes or their combination. Each of the twelve diets was offered to triplicate groups of 4 laying birds each from 40 to 52 wks of age. The results revealed a non-significant (P>0.05) difference due to interaction of different SPR levels and biotechnological tool on calcium (Ca) and phosphorous (P) retention, serum Ca and inorganic P levels at 28th, 56th and 84th days of experimental periods. The main effects of SPR levels (0, 5 and 10%) and biotechnological supplements also showed a non-significant differences (P>0.05) on Ca and P retention and serum Ca and P levels at different intervals excepting significantly (P<0.01) reduced dietary P retention at 10% SPR inclusion. It was concluded that the SPR can be effectively utilized as a source of Ca and P in layers.
